Co-Sponsor A Party

At Fireweed Collective, we have made the decision to invest in joy, and we invite you to join us. We have clarity that to build authentic and healing relationships we must bind to each other both in the hardship of lived experience and in laughter. In October we began hosting online parties that have shown us how healing it can be to have spaces of joy that welcome all of who we are. These parties are hosted by our very own Fireweed Educator, Antoinette Chen See, who is also of Ships in the Night. Beats by Chico Chi, and GoGo dancing performances by Blue Charisma. and Cinnamon Maxxine.

What do parties, GoGo Dancers, and DJs have to do with Healing Justice? We are so glad you asked! Our communities have continued to create, to imagine, and to build despite oppression, repression, and our own demons. We come from communities that were built on dancefloors, in song, and in the collective resilience of our people. Our movements were born from joy and the exhilaration of reaching for our dreams, no matter how hard they tried to stamp them out.

GoGo Dancers have been a part of our communities since the ’60s, and in these times of COVID, many of our folks have been unable to work. As a collective committed to Healing Justice, we honor the labor of the folks who dance, who perform, who DJ and believe that supporting their work is vital to our liberation. 

What we’re offering:

  • A space for folks to come judgment-free to dance, chat with folks, support dancers and artists, and find a connection in our mad community. 
  • A space where our people that are feeling low energy and hard to engage with others can be present without any pressure to be on camera, or chat, or dance, where they can just be themselves in the company of others.
  • A space for folks to share updates from their organizations, lift up actions, and share news from the frontline
  • A space to experience shared joy.

We are writing to you today to ask that you join us. We are offering sponsorships for all our parties ranging from $100 to $500 per party. 

  • $100. Party Sponsor. Your organization or group name and logo featured in all party promotional graphic material. Your name and link to your website and activities in all written promotional materials. 
  • $200. Sponsor Blue Charisma (GoGo Dancer). The party host will name your organization prior to introducing a GoGo Dancer, and will highlight salient info about your work. Your organization or group name and logo featured in all party promotional graphic material. Your name and link to your website and activities in all written promotional materials. 
  • $200. Sponsor Cinnamon Maxxine (GoGo Dancer). The party host will name your organization prior to introducing a GoGo, Dancer and will highlight salient info about your work. Your organization or group name and logo feature in all party promotional graphic material. Your name and link to your website and activities in all written promotional materials. 
  • $300. Sponsor the DJ. Chico Chi will name your organization or group and offer salient info about your work throughout the party. Your organization or group name and logo feature in all party promotional graphic material. Your name and link to your website and activities in all written promotional materials. 
  • $500. Partners in Party. Your name and logo and info in all promotional materials as Co-organizers., 5 Free tickets for your organization, and 5 copies of the Madness and Oppression Guide printed
